Coolmore Lexington Stakes at Keeneland Race Course Results

Las Vegas, NV - The $200,000 Grade 3 Coolmore Lexington Stakes took place at Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky Saturday and acted as one of the two Road to the Kentucky Wild Card races awarding 20-8-4-2 points for its first through fourth place finishers. Todd Pletcher trained Winning Cause won his third race in three tries on Keeneland Polytrack at 6-1 odds while General Election finished second and Pick of the Litter was third. Following those were Cerro, 5-2 favorite Sunbean, Wings of Fortune, the filly Pure Fun, River Rocks, Examen, and Hip Four Sixtynine. Where's Dominic was an early scratch. Winning Cause now sits 21st in the points standings after gaining the maximum 20 points for his win temporarily leaving him out of the top 20 spots necessary to qualify for the Run for the Roses.
