Las Vegas, NV - The $500,000 Grade 2 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes at Pimlico Race Course highlighted a good Preakness Stakes Eve card Friday May 17. Bob Baffert trained Fiftyshadesofhay from off the pace to win the 1 1/8-mile test for 3-year-old fillies by neck over 12-1 shot Marathon Lady. Joel Rosario, who got the mount on Orb for the Preakness was able to start his weekend off right on the right foot in the process. Toasting finished third, 4 1/2 lengths behind the runner-up. Maracuya ran fourth, Petit Trianon was fifth, Emollient - the 4-5 favorite finished sixth and Lady Banks completed the order of finish. Manuka Honey and Walkwithapurpose scratched.
