Las Vegas, NV - Looking for a little mid-week graded stakes action? The 44th running of the Grade 3 Sorrento Stakes comes our way this Wednesday, August 8 from Del Mar. Two year old fillies will be featured as they race six and a half furlongs on Del Mar's polytrack surface for a $150,000 purse.

The Sorrento has attracted a large and strong field of nine juveniles for race 7 on Del Mar's Wednesday schedule. Post time is 5:10 PM. Here is a look at the nine entries and what we can expect Wednesday.

2012 Sorrento Stakes Race Favorites

Executiveprivilege - Bob Baffert trained filly is undefeated in two career starts and is the overwhelming favorite for the Sorrento. Executiveprivilege broke maiden with a four and a half length win in a five and a half furlong Maiden Special Weight race at Hollywood Park on June 28 and followed that result with an impressive three and a quarter length win last time out in the Landaluce Stakes. Jockey Rafael Bejarano will attempt to give Bob Baffert his sixth Sorrento Stakes win and has a great chance of doing so on this very fast filly.

Speedinthruthecity - Peter Miller trained filly finished second last time out to Executiveprivilege in the Landaluce Stakes after a maiden win in her debut. Speedinthruthecity is a serious threat in the Sorrento but like the other entries will be chasing Executiveprivilege.

Renee's Titan - was a maiden winner last time out at Hollywood Park on June 21st and should be in the hunt for trainer Melody Conlon. She will make only her second career start on Wednesday.

O Happy Gray - is one of the more experienced of the entries with three career starts. Last time out was a fifth in the Landaluce Stakes to follow a win in a Maiden Special Weight at Hollywood Park. Her career debut resulted in a second in a similar race six weeks earlier on that same track.

Somethingabouther - finished second last time out in the Tippett Stakes on Colonial Downs turf to follow a win in her career debut at Colonia Downs. She ships from Kentucky for this race and will be making her first start for trainer James Cassidy.

Bares Tripper - is another entry coming off a win in her first career start. Peter Miller trained filly won a Maiden Claiming race here on July 25.

Serious - Peter Miller trained filly - another one that won her career debut - a Maiden Claiming here on July 25.

Wittgenstein - will be making her North American debut after three starts yielded just one third place finish in her native Ireland. Wittgenstein is the long shot in the Sorrento.
