San Francisco Mile Stakes Race Favorites

Jeranimo - is a multiple Grade 2 winner but most recently finished a disappointing but close fourth in the Grade 1 Frank E. Kilroe Mile at Santa Anita on March 3rd and before that was second at the Grade 2 San Gabriel on January 16th at Santa Anita after winning the race the year before. Jeranimo holds victories at the Grade 2 Strub Stakes on synthetic and more recently the Grade 2 Citation Handicap at Hollywood in November. Jeranimo beat favorite Mr. Commons at the Oak Tree Mile last fall but finished two places behind Mr. Commons (seventh) at the Breeders' Cup Mile last year. Jeranimo is the favorite despite having just one win at one mile and having drawn the rail.

Calimonco - Calimonco was impressive last time out in winning the Sidd Finch Stakes at Santa Anita on April 1st. Calimonco's other two recent starts resulted in a third behind the likes of Jeranimo at the Grade 2 Citation Handicap on November 26th at Hollywood Park and a respectable fourth in the Grade 2 Arcadia Stakes at Santa Anita on February 4th.

Kerlan Memorial Stakes at Hollywood Park last July.
