Beaumont Stakes at Keeneland

Dave Bond

Las Vegas, NV -- The 27th running of the Beaumont Stakes comes our way this Sunday, April 15th from Keeneland. Three-year-old fillies will go seven furlongs on Keeneland's polytrack surface in search of their share of the $150,000 purse and are looking to follow the great Turbulent Decent as a winner of this Grade 2 event.

The Beaumont field features only one graded stakes winner but includes three horses that are coming off wins in their last starts. Six fillies will be a part of the feature race - race 8 on Keeneland's Sunday schedule with a post time of 4:42 PM.

Here is a breakdown of the six entries and their recent results.

Beaumont Stakes Race Favorites

Sacristy - is the only graded stakes winner in the field - the Grade 3 Old Hat Stakes at Gulfstream on January 1st. She followed that result up with a third place finish in the Grade 2 Forward Gal Stakes at Gulfstream on January 29th before enduring a 2 1/2 month layoff. Sacristy has two wins, two seconds and a third place finish in five career starts and has posted victories in two of her last three starts.

Before that was a fourth place finish in the Grade 3 Schuylerville Stakes at Saratoga in July. Gypsy Robin has two wins in four career starts but hasn't raced since her win in September.

Remaining Field Entries

Milania - is making her graded stakes debut but has raced three times already in 2012, the last being a win at an Allowance Optional Claiming race at Golden Gate on March 29th. Before that was a sixth and a third in a pair of Allowance Optional Claiming races.

Piskacha - has also raced three times in 2012 and is also coming off a win - an Allowance race at Mountaineer on March 5th. Before that was a third in an Allowance at Charles Town and a sixth in the Cincinnati Trophy Stakes at Turfway on January 21st. Piskacha has three wins, a second and a third in 13 career starts.
