Las Vegas, NV - The weekend has passed - unfortunately now we have to wait a few more days for our graded stakes action fix. It was a typically exciting summer weekend of stakes action - some huge races were contested all over the country. Here is a brief recap of went down at Del Mar, Mountaineer and Woodbine this past few days.

Clement L. Hirsch Stakes at Del Mar Results

Del Mar was the scene of two graded stakes races this weekend - the Grade 1 Clement L. Hirsch for fillies and mares three years old and upward being the main event. Include Me Out proved why she is in the conversation as one of the best older females by winning her fourth race in her last five starts. The 8-5 favorite gained an automatic bid into the Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic with the win. 9-1 Star Billing made her first start on synthetic and finished a decent second with the highly regarded Chilean filly Amani coming in third in her North American debut.

Best Pal Stakes at Del Mar Results

The Grade 2 Best Pal Stakes was also run at Del Mar this weekend - Sunday saw yet another J. Paul Reddam and Doug O'Neil two year old break through - similar to what I'll Have Another did last year. Know More made a very impressive career debut and claimed victory as the 8-1 fourth choice. Know More became the only horse to ever win a graded stakes race in his first career starts at Del Mar in the process. Trainer Peter Miller had the second and third placed finishers - they were the only two fillies in the field. Heir Kitty was second in the race while Miss Empire finished third. Even favorite Scherer Magic was a disappointing fifth in the Best Pal.
