Las Vegas, NV - The Grade 2 Gazelle Stakes goes down this Saturday, April 6 from Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens, New York on a busy day at the New York facility. The race will feature three year old fillies willing to go 1 1/8 miles on Aqueduct's main track for a $250,000 purse and 100 qualifying points for the Kentucky Oaks in May.

A small but talented group of six females will line up in the Gazelle - race 8 on Aqueduct's very busy Wood Memorial Saturday schedule. Post time is 4:39 PM. Let's take a brief glance into the past performances of all six entries for this Grade 2, previously a Grade 1 stakes.

2013 Gazelle Stakes Race Favorites

Princess Of Sylmar - Todd Pletcher pupil enters having won four of her five career starts and on a four race win streak. Last time out was a score in the minor Busher Stakes at Aqueduct February 2 to follow another win on this track - the Busanda Stakes by 7 1/2 lengths January 4 where she earned 10 points toward qualification into the Kentucky Oaks. She also has a MSW and an Allowance Optional Claiming score - no reason to think she shouldn't be up for the challenge Saturday.

Included in the wins are the minor Caesar's Wish Stakes last time out by 9 1/2 lengths March 2, the minor Wide Country Stakes by 4 3/4 lengths February 2 and the Maryland Juvenile Filly Championship Stakes by eight lengths December 31. She steps up in graded stakes company for the first time Saturday but there is no hotter horse in the field.
