2013 Gamely Stakes Race Favorites

Lady of Shamrock - is a five time stakes winner (two Grade 1 scores) who won the Grade 2 Santa Barbara Handicap last time out after a second as even money favorite in the Grade 2 Santa Ana Stakes March 24 behind Tiz Flirtatious. Before that was her worst career performance - a fifth in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf in November. She finished a close second in the Honeymoon Handicap on June 9 to My Gi Gi and then bounced back with a terrific wins in the Grade 1 American Oaks July 14 and the Grade 1 Del Mar Oaks August 18 before the Breeders' Cup. She has won seven of her last 11 starts and although she is prone to the occasional letdown Lady of Shamrock is the most accomplished entry in the field and is certainly the one to beat Monday.

Marketing Mix - has won six of her last 10 starts since switching to turf and four of seven in 2012 with two seconds. Last time out was a good second in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf to follow an easy win in the Grade 1 Rodeo Drive Stakes and a second in the Grade 1 Beverly D Stakes at Arlington August 18. She won in the Grade 2 Dance Smartly to follow another score in the Grade 2 Nassau Stakes. She has been worse than second just once in her career but hasn't raced since the Breeders' Cup in November - rust has to be a factor doesn't it?
