2014 Great Lady M. Stakes Race Favorite Entries

Heir Kitty - Peter Miller trained filly had a nice two race win streak to end her 2013 campaign - the Grade 1 La Brea at 13-1 odds December 26 and an Allowance Optional Claiming at Hollywood Park November 29 after an ugly and distant ninth in the Grade 3 Autumn Miss Stakes here October 26. Last time out was an OK fourth in the Grade 1 Madison Stakes at Keeneland in April after a second behind Judy the Beauty in the Grade 3 Las Flores Stakes at Santa Anita March 9 and a fourth in her only other 2014 start - the Grade 2 Santa Monica Stakes January 25. Heir Kitty has placed in just one of her last three starts (finishing fourth in the other two) but should be the one to beat Saturday. Joe Talamo has the mount from post 4 looking for Heir Kitty's first win of 2014.

Doinghardtimeagain - Jerry Hollendorfer pupil entered the 2013 Del Mar Oaks having won three of four starts with a fourth in the minor Fleet Treat Stakes July 27 ending a three race streak. Those victories included a terrific win in her graded stakes debut - the Grade 2 Hollywood Oaks after a nice win in the Melair Stakes April 27 and a win in the Evening Jewel Stakes March 30. Doinghardtime finished an ugly ninth in the Del Mar Oak and was forced to the sideline for 10 months. She returned to action June 15 and finished last of five in the minor Desert Stormer Stakes at Santa Anita. She has five wins and three second place finishes in 12 career starts but hasn't placed in her last three starts overall. Mike Smith will ride from the outside post Saturday hoping to get Doinghardtimeagain back to her 2013 form.

Great Lady M. Stakes 2014 | Remaining Contenders

Tres Belle - Bob Baffert trained filly has seven career starts with three wins and a second place finish - three starts this year with two wins and a second place finish. She makes her graded stakes debut this week off two Allowance scores at Churchill Downs and a second in April at Santa Anita. She is lightly raced but enters in some very good form. Martin Garcia gets the call from the rail Saturday.

Amaranth - will make her graded stakes debut Saturday riding a nice three race win streak - the last coming in the Oaks by seven lengths at Oak Tree At Pleasanton June 22. She failed to place in her first three starts when she caught fire in April when she finally broke maiden. Amaranth is an intriguing entry for the Great Lady M and will leave from gate 5 with Dennis Carr guiding her.

Concave - Doug O`Neill trained filly makes her first start of 2014 Saturday after seven months away. She won the Grade 1 Sorrento Stakes at Del Mar August 7 after a MSW score in her debut. She then finished a respectable third behind She`s a Tiger in the Grade 1 Del Mar Debutante August 31 but finished a disappointing ninth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. Last time out was another disappointment - an eighth in the Grade 1 Hollywood Starlet in December after a third in the Grade 3 Delta Downs Princess Stakes in November. She will hope that they layoff did her some good especially after two brutal outings in her last three starts overall. Elvis Trujillo rides from post 2.
