2015 Flower Bowl Stakes Race Favorite Entries

Stephanie's Kitten 9-5 - defending winner of this race had a very productive Juvenile campaign in which she won or placed in all five starts (three wins and two third place finishes) including the 2011 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf. She was a leading Juvenile filly on dirt and turf in 2011 and looked OK in 2012 as well. She had just three starts in 2013 - a great win in the Grade 2 Churchill Distaff Turf Mile, another impressive score in the 2013 Grade 1 Just a Game Stakes and a third in July in the 2013 Dania Beach Stakes. Stephanie's Kitten had six starts in 2014 and looked very good toward the end - a second in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf followed a win in the 2014 Flower Bowl Stakes and consecutive runner-up finishes - the Grade 1 Beverely D Stakes included. Stephanie's Kitten has just four starts this year - a second last time out in the Grade 1 Beverly D. Stakes at Arlington August 15 followed a fifth in the Grade 1 Diana Stakes in July, a fourth as favorite in the Grade 2 New York Stakes June 5 and a good 1 1/2 length win in the Grade 3 Hillsborough Stakes at Tampa Bay in March. She has two wins and four seconds in her last eight starts but has been just so-so this year. Stephanie's Kitten hopes to make a statement Saturday - from the rail with Irad Ortiz aboard the morning line favorite

Curvy 2-1 - British bred David Wachman trained group 1 placed filly makes her anticipated North American debut Saturday off a close fourth in the group 1 Darley Yorkshire Oaks and a third in the group 1 Darley Irish Oaks two starts back. Mutatis Mutandis 12-1 - Irish bred Ed Walker trained filly makes her North American debut Saturday having recorded just three wins and two seconds in 16 career starts at home. She won two straight races at the beginning of the summer including a stakes race at Nottingham but has failed to place in her last three starts overall. Last time out was a fourth which followed an eighth and a sixth (all stakes races). Mutatis Mutandis looks to be in over her head in this one but has won stakes races at this distance in the past. She leaves from post 7 with John Velazquez guiding her.

America 15-1 - Bill Mott trained filly won three straight races this past winter - the best of which was the minor Affectionately Stakes at Aqueduct in January.
