2015 Ogden Phipps Stakes Race Favorite Entries

Untapable 2-5 - unanimously voted champion 3-year-old filly of 2014 Steve Asmussen trained filly had four straight graded stakes scores to start last year - the Grade 1 Mother Goose by 9 1/4 lengths here June 28, the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks May 2, the Grade 2 Fair Ground Oaks March 29 and the Grade 3 Rachel Alexandra Stakes on that same track in February. She followed that with a disappointing fifth in the Grade 1 Haskell (her worst performance since an eighth in the 2013 Breeders' Cup) and a great win in the Grade 1 Cotillion Stakes at Parx September 20. Untapable has continued her torrid pace in her last three starts - a dominant win in the Breeders' Cup Distaff was followed by a slightly disappointing second in the Grade 2 Azeri Stakes in March and another win in the Grade 1 Apple Blossom Handicap April 10. She has nine wins, a second and a third place finish in 13 career starts and has won six of her last seven graded stakes - impressive indeed. Untapable will line up in gate 4 Saturday with the legendary John Velazquez guiding the overwhelming morning line favorite.

Wedding Toast 4-1 - Kiaran McLaughlin trained mare has placed in nine of 10 career starts - six wins, two seconds and a third place finish. She enters off a career best result - a win by four lengths in the Grade 2 Ruffian Stakes here May 9 after a fourth in the Grade 1 Madison Stakes at Keeneland April 4 and a third in the Grade 3 Rampart Stakes at Gulfstream February 21. Before that was a win in the minor Miami Shores Handicap in January and eight months away. She also had a terrific four race win streak early in her career - the best of which came in the Grade 3 Comely Stakes in November, 2013. Wedding Toast is used to being at or near the top - hopes are that she continues that trend Saturday with Jose Lezcano guiding her from gate 2.

Princess Violet 8-1 - Linda Rice trained filly has 11 career starts with five wins and five second place finishes. Before that was consecutive runner-up finishes - in the Grade 2 Barbara Fritchie Handicap February 14 and as 2-1 favorite in the Grade 3 Go for Wand Handicap at Aqueduct November 28 and consecutive wins - the minor Empire Distaff Handicap by 5 1/2 lengths at Belmont Park October 18 and an Allowance in dominant fashion on that same track two weeks earlier. House Rules 12-1 - has looked very good in 2015 - three wins, a second and a third place finish in five starts. She also had runner-up finishes in graded stakes action last year - the Grade 2 Davona Dale Stakes and the Grade 2 Gulfstream Oaks. House Rules has six wins, four seconds and one third place finish in 17 career starts and like so many in this race enters in the best form of her career. Junior Alvarado has been tabbed to ride House Rules from post 3 Saturday.

Rosalind 12-1 - Chad Brown trained filly has placed in eight of 14 career starts and enters off a career best effort - a win in the Grade 2 Sheepshead Bay Stakes on this track May 2. It followed a fifth in the Grade 2 Santa Ana Stakes in March and a second in the Grade 3 Suwannee River Stakes at Gulfstream February 7. She had a tenth October 17 in the Pin Oak Valley View Stakes in October, a ninth in the Grade 1 Belmont Oaks Invitational and a DNF in a Stakes in Britain. She did win the Grade 1 Ashland Stakes in a dead heat in April, 2014 as well and did record a third after rallying from 16 lengths back in the 2013 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies but has struggled to find consistency since - she has yet to win in four starts on dirt. Rosalind hopes to build on a great effort last time out with Joel Rosario in the saddle from the rail.

Shayjolie 20-1 - won the minor Cat Cay Stakes in March for trainer Gary Contessa and has been OK in graded stakes company since. Last time out was a fourth in the Grade 2 Ruffian Stakes May 9 on this track after a third in the Grade 3 Top Flight Handicap at Aqueduct April 11. Shayjolie has three wins, four seconds and a third place finish and will be after her first graded stakes score Saturday. Shayjolie will depart from the outside post 6 Saturday with Rajiv Maragh aboard.
