Something Extra two time winner of this race, Gail Cox trained gelding had five starts last year - a terrific win in the Grade 2 Highlander Stakes in July followed a second behind Excaper in the 2014 Connaught Cup in May and a third, just a length back in the Grade 3 Shakertown Stakes at Keeneland April 12. He was second in the minor Kentucky Downs Turf Dash, fourth in the Grade 2 Play the King Stakes at here in August and ended 2014 with a tenth in the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint. Something Extra has looked good in his two starts this year - a third last time out in the Grade 3 Twin Spires Turf Sprint May 1 followed a nice win in the Grade 3 Shakertown Stakes at Keeneland in April. Eurico Rosa Da Silva will be in the reins of the 123 pound top weight from the rail trying to keep his good 2015 form going.

Excaper - defending champion in this race has been OK since that win. In 2015 he has two starts but failed to place in either - a sixth last time out in the Grade 3 Appleton Stakes March 28 followed a fifth in the Grade 3 Canadian Turf Stakes in February - both results at Gulfstream. He ended his 2014 campaign with consecutive runner-up finishes - the minor El Parado Stakes and the minor Labeeb Stakes. Excaper also had a second in the Grade 2 King Edward Stakes a year ago and a second in the 2011 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf. He looks for his first win in 14 months Saturday having recorded five wins, nine seconds and a third place finish in 24 career starts. Excaper arrives at Saturday's test off a series of strong works including a bullet four panel breeze in :46.80 over the Woodbine training turf on May 24.
