OffTrackBetting.com - The Grade 3 Torrey Pines Stakes will be run this Sunday, August 28 at Del Mar Race Track in Del Mar, California. A purse of $100,000 will be on the line for three year old fillies when they take to Del Mar's dirt track and race one mile.

A field of eight sophomore females will line up in the Torrey Pines Stakes - race 8 on Del Mar's Sunday schedule. Post time is 5:30 PM. Here is a look into the past performances of all eight combatants for this Grade 3 stakes.

2016 Torrey Pines Stakes Race Preview at Del Mar Race Track

Enola Gray 4-5 - Phil D'Amato trained filly has three career starts and three impressive wins. Last time out was in the minor Fleet Treat Stakes on this track July 22 after wins in the minor Melair Stakes at Santa Anita May 28 and a maiden score at first asking in April. Enola Gray hasn't been touched so far in her career and hopes to continue the streak from the rail in her graded stakes debut Sunday. Tyler Baze rides this overwhelming favorite.

Bellamentary 4-1 - has placed in five of six career starts for trainer Phil D'Amato - three wins and two second place finishes. Last time out was a very respectable second behind the fabulous Songbird in the Grade 2 Summertime Oaks at Santa Anita June 18 which followed a nice win in the minor Angel's Flight Stakes on that track May 15, a fifth in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Oaks in April and a two race win streak including an Allowance Optional Claiming in March. Bellamentary has been very good lately and will be after her first graded stakes score from post 7 Sunday from post 7. Martin Garcia will be in the irons of the second betting choice.

She's a Warrior 6-1 - finally posted a her first win last time out in her eighth career start after the first seven produced three seconds and three third place finishes. Before her win was a career-worst effort - a seventh in the Grade 2 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes May 20, a third behind the terrific Songbird in the Grade 3 Santa Anita Oaks at Santa Anita April 9, a second in a MSW March 5 and another third behind Songbird in the Grade 2 Las Virgenes Stakes February 6. Outside of one bad start She's a Warrior has been in every race so far and could be in line for her first ever stakes win this Sunday. Mario Gutierrez has been scheduled to ride the morning line third choice from post 5.

Kay Kay 8-1 - has placed in five of six career starts for trainer Vladimir Cerin - one win, two seconds and two third place finishes - her win coming in her debut. Last time out was a second in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Santa Anita June 30 after a respectable third in the Grade 2 Summertime Oaks June 18, another third in the minor Angel's Flight Stakes and a sixth in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Oaks in April. Kay Kay has placed in her last three starts and will be looking for her first stakes score from post 3. Alonso Quinonez has thee mount.

Belvoir Bay 10-1 - British bred Peter Miller trained filly has three wins and a second place finish in eight career starts. She made her graded stakes debut last time out and flopped to a tenth place finish in the Grade 2 San Clemente Stakes on this track July 23. Before that was a nice win in the minor Blue Norther Stakes at Santa Anita December 27 and a ninth in her North American debut - the minor Chelsey Flower Stakes at Belmont Park in October. She had a respectable fourth in the Group 3 Prestige Stakes at home before shipping. Belvoir Bay has been OK in her career so far but will be in search of a strong bounce back Sunday. Norberto Arroyo will try to accomplish that goal from the outside gate 8 Sunday.

Uptown Twirl 15-1 - has four wins and a second place finish in eight career starts for trainer John Sadler and enters on a nice two race win streak - last time out in the minor Pleasanton Oaks June 18 and the minor Surfside Stakes at Los Alamitos in April. Before that was an uncharacteristic fifth in the minor Sweet Life Stakes at Santa Anita in February and an Allowance Optional Claiming score in January. She has won three of her last four starts - in terrific form ahead of this week. Victor Espinoza has been tabbed to ride.

Dreamarcher 15-1 - has 11 career starts for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer with three wins, a second and three third place finishes. She makes her graded stakes debut Sunday off a nice win in the minor Wine Country Stakes at Santa Rosa July 30, a fifth in an Allowance Optional Claiming June 12 and a second and a win respectively in a pair of Allowance Optional Claiming races at Golden Gate this past spring. Dreamarcher chases her second straight stakes score (first graded stakes victory) from gate 6 Sunday with Santiago Gonzalez aboard.

Nine Point Nine 20-1 - has 15 career starts already fro trainer Vladimir Cerin with four wins, two seconds and two third place finishes. She makes her graded stakes debut having failed to place in her last two starts - a fourth last time out in an Allowance Optional Claiming here August 4 after a seventh in the minor Sandy Blue Handicap on this track July 17. She did hit the board in her previous three - an Allowance Optional Claiming score June 19 followed a second and a third respectively in a pair of similar races in May. Nine Point Nine hasn't been great lately and will be looking for her first stakes score from gate 4 Sunday. Fernando Hernandez Perez gets the call.
