2016 Honeymoon Stakes Race Preview at Santa Anita Park

Stays in Vegas - has five wins and a second place finish in seven career starts for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer - all of the wins stakes races. Last time out was a terrific win in the Grade 3 Senorita Stakes here May 7 after a close second in the Grade 1 Starlet Stakes at Los Alamitos December 12, a win in the minor Pike Place Dancer Stakes at Golden Gate November 1, a victory in the Surer Girl Stakes at Santa Anita October 10 (both of those wins coming on turf), a fifth behind Songbird in the Grade 1 Del Mar Debutante in September and wins in the Wine Country Debutante in August and the Juan Gonzalez Memorial at first asking in July. Stays in Vegas has been terrific so far and hopes to keep the roll going in her longest race to date Sunday. Alex Solis has the mount from post 3.

Be Mine - has just three career starts for trainer Phil D'Amato and two wins and a second place finish. She made her stakes debut May 7 and posted a very respectable second place finish - a head behind Stays in Vegas in the Grade 3 Senorita Stakes here after a Starter Allowance score by 5 1/2 lengths on this track April 1 and a Maiden Claiming win at Tampa Bay in her debut. Be Mine certainly didn't look out of place in her step up in competition and will be out to carry some momentum as she tries 1 1/8 miles for the first time from gate 6. Tyler Baze has the mount.

Decked Out - Keith Desormeaux trained filly has two wins, a second and three third place finishes in 10 career starts. She enters off a disappointing fourth in the Grade 3 Senorita Stakes here May 7 after a career best effort - a 2 3/4 length win after racing in last in the Grade 3 Providencia Stakes - at this distance on this track April 9. Before that was a fifth in the minor China Doll Stakes and consecutive thirds including the minor Sweet Life Stakes here February 14. Decked out had four graded stakes starts earlier in her career - a seventh in the Grade 2 Santa Ynez Stakes in January, a fifth in the Grade 2 Pocahontas Stakes in September, a fourth in the Grade 2 Adirondack Stakes in August and a third in the Grade 3 Schuylerville Stakes in July. She is the most experienced entry in the field but has failed to place in two of her last three starts. Decked Out hopes to channel her form from two starts ago when she leaves from gate 4 with Kent Desormeaux aboard.

Lady Valeur - Irish bred Peter Gallagher trained filly has placed in five of six career starts - two wins and three runner-up finishes - all at 1 1/8 miles on turf. Last time out was an impressive 1 1/2 length Allowance Optional Claiming score on this course and at this distance May 20 after a fifth in the Grade 3 Providencia Stakes April 9, a second in the minor China Doll Stakes March 12 and a maiden score February 13 in her third career start. Lady Valeur has been OK and searches for her first stakes win Sunday. Meet leading rider Rafael Bejarano gets the call from the rail.

Gone to Bali - has three wins in six career starts for trainer Jeff Mullins. She makes her stakes debut Sunday having won three of her last four starts - an Allowance Optional Claiming in gate-to-wire fashion at Golden Gate April 29, a Starter Optional Claiming here January 12 and a Maiden Claiming at Los Alamitos in December - with a fourth in an Allowance Optional Claiming sandwiched in there. Gone to Bali steps up in very good form and will leave from gate 2 with Tyler Baze in the saddle.

Cheekaboo - Peter Eurton trained filly has two wins, two seconds and two third place finishes in seven career starts. She makes her graded stakes debut Sunday in OK form. Last time out was a third in the minor Melair Stakes here May 28 which followed a nice win in the minor Campanile Stakes at Golden Gate May 1, a fifth in an Allowance in March and an OK third in the minor Xpressbet California Cup Oaks on this track in January. Cheekaboo will be out to make a serious statement Sunday with Mike Smith aboard from post 5.

Sutton's Smile - Phil D'Amato trained filly has a win, two seconds and three third place finishes in eight career starts - six of which have come on turf. She posted consecutive respectable thirds in the winter - the Grade 1 Starlet Stakes here December 12 and in her stakes debut - the Grade 3 Jimmy Durante Stakes at Del Mar November 28. She went on to a disappointing seventh in the minor China Doll Stakes here March 12 and was second last time out in an Allowance Optional Claiming on this track May 20. Her only win came on this track October 17. Suttons Smile has recorded some decent results but has yet to post a stakes win so far. Joe Talamo hopes to change all of that from the outside post 10 if she doesn't race the Summertime Oaks on Saturday at Santa Anita.

How Unusual - has two wins and a second place finish in six career starts for trainer Tim Yakteen. Last time out was a decent Allowance Optional Claiming score here May 28 after a respectable second in the minor Campanile Stakes at Golden Gate May 1, a seventh in the Grade 3 Providencia Stakes here April 9 and an eighth in the minor China Doll Stakes on this track May 12. How Unusual arrives in career best form for what that's worth and will depart from gate 8 with Stewart Elliot guiding her.

Jeremy's Legacy - Doug O'Neill trained filly has just one win and a pair of seconds in nine career starts. She enters off a fourth in the Grade 3 Edgewood Stakes at Churchill Downs May 6 which followed a respectable second in the Grade 3 Providencia Stakes on this track April 9 and off-the-board finishes in two previous minor stakes starts. Jeremy's Legacy, outside of her runner-up finish two starts back hasn't been all that impressive. She hopes to change her fortunes from post 7 with Santiago Gonzalez in the irons.

Where's the D - has four career starts for trainer Doug O'Neill with two wins. Last time out was an Allowance Optional Claiming score here May 13 after a seventh in her only stakes start to date - the Grade 1 Frizette Stakes at Belmont Park October 3 and a maiden score in September in her second career start. Where's the D will be chasing her first stakes score Sunday from post 9.
