OZONE PARK, N.Y. - The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) today announced the addition of one live racing date to the current Aqueduct winter meet. Live racing is now scheduled for Thursday, February 18.

This day is being added as a result of this past weekend's live racing cancellations due to extreme weather conditions. Thursday's card will be composed of entries redrawn from overnight races originally intended from Saturday and Sunday's cancelled cards.

"As always, our first responsibility is to the safety of our horses and jockeys," said Martin Panza, NYRA Senior Vice-President of Racing Operations. "It's unfortunate we lost two days to this weekend's extreme winter weather conditions but we're thankful to the New York State Gaming Commission in giving us permission to add this additional day of racing. NYRA would also like to thank our horsemen in helping us to fill this additional racing card."

This past weekend's scheduled stakes races, the $100,000 Haynesfield Stakes and $100,000 Broadway Stakes, originally scheduled for Saturday, will be redrawn and run on next Sunday's card at Aqueduct on February 21.

The first post time for this Thursday's racing card is 12:50 p.m. Simulcasting will also be available at Aqueduct and the Belmont Café. The next scheduled live racing date is President's Day, Monday, February 15 featuring the $100,000 Hollie Hughes for 4 year-olds and up.
