Millions at Stake Saturday for Gulfstream’s Rainbow 6 Mandatory Payout

December 10, 2019

Pool Expected to be More Than $5 Million

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – The countdown to Saturday’s mandatory payout of the lucrative 20-cent Rainbow 6 pool ended Friday at Gulfstream Park on a positive note for bettors hoping for a chance to cash in on a life-changing jackpot.

The Rainbow 6 went unsolved for the 27th consecutive racing day Friday, producing a $1,453,762.30 carryover into Saturday’s program. With so much money added to Saturday’s wagering pool on a mandatory payout day, the pool can be expected to grow to $5 million-plus.

When a $1.4 million carryover was forced out on April 23, 2011, the total pool that afternoon swelled to $5.1 million after $3.5 million was bet into it.

Friday, multiple tickets were sold with the 7-5-1-7-4-7, each worth $8,128.18.

The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot is paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. Yet, on a mandatory-payout day, the entire pool must be paid out to those bettors with tickets sporting the most winners in the six-race sequence.

Saturday’s Rainbow 6 will span Races 6-11.
