Del Mar and Saratoga opening weekends

It is an action packed weekend as both Del Mar Race Track and Saratoga race seasons begin! The 72nd Del Mar horse betting season starts with new wagers including the 50-Cent Pick Five and the $50,000 seeded Pick 6 on Sundays. In addition, 143rd season opening of Saratoga kicks off a 40 day schedule of top-class horse racing packed with 35 graded races, including 16 Grade 1 events.

Two of the biggest races this weekend take place on opposite sides of the country. The big race on Saturday at Saratoga Race Course is the $250,000 Grade 1 Coaching Club American Oaks while Del Mar Race Track features the $300,000 Grade 1 Eddie Read Stakes.
