American Pharoah Wins Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs

Las Vegas, NV - The biggest race of the weekend - the Kentucky Derby was run Saturday, May 2 from Churchill Downs in Lexington, Kentucky in front of a record crowd of 170,513. And it certainly didn't disappoint. 5-2 favorite American Pharoah came from just off the pace and answered a lot of questions by posting victory by a length over 9-1 shot Firing line and 4-1 second choice Dortmund who hung in there but finished third. Dortmund was followed by Frosted, Danzig Moon, Materiality, Keen Ice, Mubtaahij, Itsaknockout, Carpe Diem, Frammento, Bolo, Mr. Z, Ocho Ocho Ocho, Far Right, War Story, Tencendur, and Upstart. Stanford, Zayat Stable's El Kabeir, and International Star were scratched before the Run for the Roses.
