Alert Bay Wins San Francisco Mile at Golden Gate Fields

Golden Gate Fields in Berkeley, California played host to the $100,000 Grade 3 San Francisco Mile on Saturday, April 30 - a one mile turf test for horses three years old and upward. It was third betting choice Alert Bay that bested the field of 13 at 7-2 odds. Fast Closing 3-1 second choice Gabriel Charles made a strong run but wound up a neck back in second while Bal a Bali, the 9-5 favorite finished another head back in third. Kenjisstorm finished fourth while G. G. Ryder, Montego Bay, Docs Legacy (IRE), Tamarando, Royal F J, Perfectly Majestic, Terrys Tom Cat, P Club and Unusually Green completed the order of finish. Home Run Kitten scratched.
