Last Gunfighter Wins Hawthorne Gold Cup at Hawthorne Race Course
Las Vegas, NV - The $350,000 Grade 2 Hawthorne Gold Cup Handicap went down at Hawthorne Park Saturday, November 30. New York shipper 4-5 favorite Last Gunfighter emerged victorious by a length over 14-1 shot Mister Marti Gras to avenge a fifth place finish in the Breeders' Cup Classic. 29-1 shot Street Spice finished a very good third while Alpha, the 5-2 second choice finished fourth. Suns Out Guns Out, Fordubai, Hattaash, and Derby Kitten completed the order of finish. Prayer for Relief scratched in favor of the Nov. 29 Clark Handicap at Churchill Downs.
