Californian Stakes at Hollywood Park Results

Las Vegas, NV - The $150,000 Grade 2 Californian Stakes went down at Betfair Hollywood Park on Saturday, June 1. Second choice on the morning line, Clubhouse Ride shook his case of "runner-up-itis" and recorded his first graded stakes victory by 2 1/4 lengths in the 1 1/8 mile prep race for the Hollywood Gold Cup. Liaison, the Mervyn LeRoy Handicap winner and even money favorite for the Californian, ridden by Martin Garcia, was second by 2 1/4 lengths over 19-1 shot Oilisblackgold and Edwin Maldonado. Kettle Corn was a non-threatening fourth, followed by Batti Man, Holladay Road, and Blueskiesnrainbows.
