Sam Houston Race Park in Houston, Texas was the scene of the $200,000 G3 John B. Connally Turf Cup Stakes on Sunday, January 29 - a 1 1/2 mile turf test for horses four years old and upward. Trainer Mike Maker made it four straight wins in this race - this time with even-money favorite Bigger Picture who prevailed by 1 1/4 lengths in the field of eight. The other Michael Maker trainees in the race also took spots on the podium - 3-2 second choice Oscar Nominated and 7-2 third choice Greengrassofyoming got in for second and third respectively. Hay Dakota was fourth while West Road, Phantom Trip, Domikate, and Fall of Troy completed the order of finish.
