Copper Bullet Wins Saratoga Special Stakes at Saratoga Race Course

The $200,000 G2 Saratoga Special Stakes was run Sunday, August 13 at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York. Two-year olds saddled up and raced 6 1/2 furlongs on Saratoga's dirt track. Steve Asmussen-trained 2-year-old son of More Than and 5-2 morning line favorite Copper Bullet proved to be much the best on the day winning by an easy four lengths for his fist graded stakes score. 4-1 co-third choice Hollywood Star rallied for second while Tempestad came in third at 15-1 odds in the field of nine. Bal Harbour finished fourth while Crea's Bklyn Law, 7-2 second choice Diamond Oops, Mo Diddley, 4-1 Barry Lee, and Vino rounded out the order of finish.
