Las Vegas, NV - The Grade 3 Robert B. Lewis Stakes comes our way this Saturday, February 6 from Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. A purse of $150,000 and 10 qualifying points toward the Kentucky Derby in May will be on the line for horses three years old willing to go 1 1/16 miles on Santa Anita's dirt track.

2016 Robert B. Lewis Stakes Race Preview

Mor Spirit - Bob Baffert trained Ringling has four career starts with two wins and two second place finishes - favored in every race so far. Last time out was a terrific win in the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Futurity with an impressive 96 Beyer Speed Figure December 19 which followed a respectable second in the Grade 2 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes at Churchill Downs November 28, a maiden score by an eye-opening 4 1/4 lengths at Santa Anita October 23 and a second in his debut in September. Mor Spirit has been a factor in every race so far and hopes to climb up from eighth on the Derby leaderboard Saturday. He chases his second straight graded stakes score from post 5 with Gary Stevens in the reins of the heavy favorite.

Let's Meet in Rio - Bob Baffert trained colt made his stakes debut last time out and finished a very respectable second in the Grade 3 Sham Stakes on this track January 9. Before that was a maiden score December 5 at Los Alamitos and off-the-board finishes in his first two starts. Let's Meet in Rio has definitely been trending upward ahead of this race and could be one to watch from the rail with Kent Desormeax in the saddle.

Dressed in Hermes - has two wins and a third place finish in five career starts for trainer Janet Armstrong and enters off a career best effort - a win in the Grade 3 Cecil B. DeMille Stakes at Del Mar November 29. Before that was a fifth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf October 30 and a win in the minor $100,000 Zuma Beach Stakes here October 10. Dressed in Hermes has won two of his last three starts overall (both turf stakes) and enters with a ton of confidence. Rafael Bejarano has been tabbed with keeping the roll going and getting Dressed in Hermes his first dirt win from post 3 Saturday.

Laoban - will hit the track for the fourth time for trainer Eric Guillot having recorded one second and one third place finish so far. Last time out was a third in the Grade 3 Sham Stakes on this track January 9 after a second in a MSW at Los Alamitos December 5. He was fifth in his debut November 15. Laoban has been decent in his last two starts and off a third in his graded stakes debut should be a confident entry. Tyler Baze gets the call from gate 4.

Path of David - Kristin Muhall trained gelding makes his graded stakes debut Saturday. He enters in the heels of a two race win streak - the minor Eddie Logan Stakes last time out on this track December 31 and a maiden score at Del Mar in his fifth career start November 28. He now has two wins, a second and a third place finish in six career starts and arrives in career best form. He shoots for his third straight win in his dirt debut Saturday with Joe Talamo in the irons from gate 6.

I Will Score - has two career starts for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer with two wins. He makes his stakes debut Saturday having posted an Allowance Optional Claiming score last time out on this track January 3 after a maiden score at first asking September 11. I Will Score looks to remain perfect in his step up in competition in his first start around two turns from gate 2 with Mike Smith aboard.

Uncle Lino - has a win, a second and a third place finish in three career starts for trainer Gary Sherlock. He makes his stakes debut Saturday off a third in an Allowance Optional Claiming here January 3, a maiden score November 29 and a second in his debut in July. Uncle Lino steps up in so-so form and will have Fernando Hernandez Perez in the reins from the outside post 7.
