Las Vegas, NV - Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas will be the scene of the Grade 3 Lone Star Park Handicap this Monday, May 27. Horses three years old and up[ward will take center stage as they race 1 1/16 miles on Lone Star's main track for a $300,000 purse.

The Lone Star Park Handicap has attracted a small but quality field of five for race 10 on Lone Star's Saturday card. Post time is 5:47 PM. Here is a look at the past performances of all five combatants for this Grade 3 stakes.

2013 Lone Star Park Handicap Race Favorites

Master Rick - enters having won two straight races - the Grade 3 Texas Mile Stakes over stablemate Prayer for Relief here April 27 and an Allowance Optional Claiming score by 1 1/4 lengths win an impressive 94 Beyer Speed Figure for trainer Steve Asmussen after a pair of fourths in minor stakes action at Oaklawn Park to start the year. He has looked terrific in his last two starts and has to be on the radar this Monday.

Prayer For Relief - the other Steve Asmussen trained entry has just one start in 2013 - a second place finish in the Grade 3 Texas Mile Stakes here April 27 after a nearly eight month layoff. Before the layoff he had a sixth in the Grade 3 Washington Park Handicap in September, a second in the minor Governor's Cup Stakes in August and a sixth in the Grade 2 San Diego Handicap in July. He placed in two straight graded stakes races in the summer and looked good last time out on this track.

Isn't He Clever - had a second in the Grade 3 Sunland Derby last March but he struggled in two races after that - an eighth place finish in the Grade 1 Arkansas Derby was followed by a seventh last time out in the Grade 2 Woody Stephens Stakes. He last raced in graded stakes company in July - a fourth in the Grade 3 Jersey Shore Stakes and since has won to minor stakes races - the Bill Thomas Memorial last time out at Sunland Park March 24 and the Ruidoso Thoroughbred Derby back in September. He has been in some tough races in the past and figures to be right in the mix Monday.

Battle Hardened - raced to a win to start his 2013 campaign in the Grade 3 Sam F. Davis Stakes and followed that with a disappointing sixth in the Grade 2 Tampa Bay Derby last March - his last graded stakes race. He has raced five straight Allowance races since and is coming off two straight victories - the last coming on this track May 18.

Formaggio - has raced in graded stakes company just once in 20 career starts - a tenth in the Grade 3 Kentucky Cup Turf Stakes in September 2011. He has concentrated on Allowance and Claiming races since. In 2013 he had a third in an Allowance last time out on this track, a fourth in a Claiming March 21 and a second to start his year in a Starter Optional Claiming at Fair Grounds March 6.
