Green Gratto Wins Carter Handicap at Aqueduct Racetrack

The $400,000 G1 Carter Handicap took place Saturday, April 8 at Aqueduct Racetrack in South Ozone Park, New York. Horses four years old and upward were featured as they took to Keeneland's dirt track and raced seven furlongs. It was 54-1 longshot Green Gratto that ran the best of his 53 race career and pulled the major upset in the field of nine, emerging by just a neck over 4-5 favorite Unified. 5-2 second choice Tommy Macho finished an even third with All Star Red, Ocean Knight, Spartiatis, King Kranz, Sassicaia and Awesome Banner completing the order of finish.
