Tonalist Wins Peter Pan Stakes at Belmont Park
Las Vegas, NV - The $200,000 Grade 2 Peter Pan Stakes was run at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York on Saturday, May 10 - a major prep for the $1.5 million Belmont Stakes June 7. Highly regarded Tonalist made a triumphant return from a lung infection and destroyed the field by four lengths as the 6-5 favorite. Third choice Commissioner was second, 2 1/4 lengths in front of Irish You Well. Matterhorn finished fourth and Tapicero was next, followed by Calder Derby winner, 3-1 second choice Our Caravan. Fabulous Kid was eased and posted a DNF.
