Sentiero Italia Wins Sands Point Stakes at Belmont Park
Las Vegas, NV - The $500,000 Grade 2 Sands Point Stakes went down at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York on Saturday, September 12 - a 1 1/8 mile turf test for three year old fillies. Godolphin Racing's 8-5 race favorite Sentiero Italia recorded her second straight impressive win - this time by 3 3/4 lengths. European import Blond Me finished a good second in her first U.S. start with 16-1 shot Miss Temple City claiming third. Tapitry finished an even fourth, followed by Osaila, Mrs McDougal, Iromea, Cara Marie, Malabar, and Marabea, to complete the order of finish. Her Emmynency and Pangburn (main track only) were scratched.
