Yellow Agate Wins Frizette Stakes at Belmont Park
The $400,000 G1 Frizette Stakes was contested Saturday, October 8 at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. Two year old fillies took center stage and raced one mile on Belmont Park's dirt track. China Horse Club's overwhelming 6-5 favorite Yellow Agate won her second race in her second career start - by a half length in the field of six. With the win Yellow Agate gained an automatic berth into the 14 Hands Winery Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. 6-1 shot Libby's Tale finished a good second with Colorful Charades getting in for third at 23-1 odds - another 9 1/4 lengths back. 8-5 second choice Nonna Mela disappointed in fourth with Sky Gesture and Star Super completing the order of finish.
