The $250,000 G3 Intercontinental Stakes was contested Thursday, June 8 at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York - a seven furlong turf test for fillies and mares four years old and upward. 5-year-old daughter by Giant's Causeway, co-6-1 second choice Mississippi Delta held on in the final strides and prevailed by just a head - over hard-charging Conquest Babayaga who got up for a quality second at 9-1 odds. Portmagee, who was also sent off at 6-1 finished a quality third in the field of 10 while Fair Point was fourth and Lady Valeur, Outsider Art, Rapid Rhythm, 3-5 race favorite Take These Chains finished eighth, Josdesanimaux and Perfect Pic completed the order of finish. Nobody's Fault scratched.
