Ascend Wins Manhattan Stakes at Belmont Park
Belmont Park in Elmont, New York was the scene of the $1 million G1 Woodford Reserve Manhattan Stakes on Saturday, June 10 - a 1 1/4-mile Inner turf race for horses four years old and upward. Stone Farm and Madaket Stables' Graham Motion trained 27-1 longshot Ascend made the most of his graded stakes debut and upset the field by an impressive 1 1/4 lengths. 6-5 favorite Time Test settled for second in the field of nine while Sadler's Joy came third, another neck back at 8-1 odds. Beach Patrol came fourth while 7-2 second choice World Approval, Divisidero, Potemkin, Applicator and Wake Forest completed the order of finish.
