Mor Spirit Wins Metropolitan Handicap at Belmont Park

The $1.2 million Mohegan Sun Metropolitan Handicap went down Saturday, June 10 at a busy Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. Horses three years old and upward took to Belmont Park's dirt track and raced one mile. Bob Baffert trained, 5-2 race favorite Mor Spirit proved to be much the best on the day, running away by an easy 6 1/4 lengths. 3-1 second betting choice Sharp Azteca finished second in the field of 12 with 15-1 shot Tommy Macho a decent third. 9-2 third choice Awesome Slew was fourth with Economic Model, Rally Cry, Tom's Ready, Solid Wager, Virtual Machine, Denman's Call, Mohaymen and Inside Straight completing the order of finish.
