Roy H Wins True North Stakes at Belmont Park
The $250,000 G2 True North Stakes took place Friday, June 9 at a busy Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. Horses four years old and upward took to Belmont Park's dirt track and dashed six furlongs. Gary Hartunian's 6-1 shot Roy H easily bested a pretty good field in a career-best effort - by 2 1/2 lengths. 9-2 third betting choice Stallwalkin' Dude finished second in the field of eight while even money favorite Whitmore got in for a slightly disappointing third. Fellowship was fourth while Green Gratto, Holy Boss, 3-1 second choice Noholdingback Bear and Chief Lion completed the order of finish. El Deal scratched.
