Takaful Wins Vosburgh Stakes at Belmont Park
Belmont Park in Elmont, New York was the scene of the $350,000 G1 Vosburgh Stakes on Saturday, September 30 - a six-furlong dirt dash for horses three years old and upward. Kiaran McLaughlin trained 9-2 third choice Takaful proved best on the day, winning by a length and earning an automatic spot in the TwinSpires Breeders' Cup Sprint Nov. 4 at Del Mar. 6-5 favorite El Deal finished second in the field of seven with 4-1 third betting choice Stallwalkin' Dude, who was second in 2016 Vosburgh and third in 2015 edition, a half-length behind El Deal in third. Celtic Chaos was fourth with Weekend Hideaway, Mr. Crow and Green Gratto completing the order of finish.
