Irish Surf Wins Cougar II Handicap at Del Mar Race Track
Las Vegas, NV - Del Mar Race track in Del Mar, California played host to the $100,000 Grade 2 Cougar II Handicap on Friday, July 25 - a 1 1/2 mile Marathon dominated by 15-2 fourth choice Irish Surf who finished the course in record time over Polytrack. Irish Surf finished 8 1/4 lengths ahead of 11-10 favorite Sky Kingdom and Ice Cream Truck. Bailoutbobby was fourth, followed by Layton Register, Old Time Hockey, and Lideris - Long View Drive unfortunately suffered a catastrophic injury in the race and obviously did not finish. Soi Phet, American Blend and Big John B all scratched.
