Las Vegas, NV - Del Mar in the great state of California was the scene of the Grade 1 Del Mar Oaks on Saturday, August 16 - a 1 1/8 mile turf test for three year old fillies. 9-1 fourth choice Personal Diary provided the upset, emerging by 2 3/4 lengths over late running Stellaris who finished second and pacesetter My Conquestadory who wound up third. Sea Queen, the 7-5 favorite finished a disappointing fourth followed by Famous Alice, Diversy Harbor, Odisseia, and Tepin. Istanford, who won the Sandy Blue Handicap the previous evening, and Maibaby were scratched.
