California Chrome Wins Hollywood Derby at Del Mar
Las Vegas, NV - The $300,000 Grade 1 Hollywood Derby went down on Del Mar turf on Saturday, November 29 - it represented the turf debut of the great California Chrome who looked to bolster his case in the Horse of the Year conversation. He didn't disappoint winning the 1 1/8 mile test by two lengths as 7-10 favorite over 5-2 second choice and Queen's Plate winner Lexie Lou. French-bred 11-1 shot Talco was third followed by Sawyer's Hill, Cabral and Flamboyant.
