Istanford Wins San Clemente Handicap at Del Mar
Las Vegas, NV - The renovated turf course at Del Mar welcomed a group of three year old fillies on Saturday, July 19 for the $200,000 Grade 2 San Clemente Handicap. The Mike Stidham trained Instaford provided the surprise, dominating the field and leading every step of the way to post a 2 1/2 length victory at 10-1 odds. Tepin finished a good second at 18-1 odds with Mark Casse trained stablemate My Conquestadory getting up for third as the 5-2 second choice. Favored Diversy Harbor finished a disappointing fourth followed by Sushi Empire, Tiz Kissable, Sandiva, Miss Machiavelli, Concave, Morning Fix, Tiz the Key, and Sheza Smoke Show.
