Hard Aces Wins Cougar II Handicap at Del Mar Race Track
The $100,000 Grade 3 Cougar II Handicap went down Sunday, July 24 at Del Mar racetrack in the great state of California - a 1 1/2 mile dirt test for horses three years old and upward. Hronis Racing's 2-5 race favorite Hard Aces who scratched from the San Diego Handicap on Saturday proved that he made the right choice and held off a charge by 3-1 second choice Quick Casablanca by 1 1/2 lengths. Seve's Road finished third in the field that was trimmed to just four while Energia Fribby came in fourth. Unfortunately Hoppertunity and Inforbdad were scratched.
