Mokat Wins San Clemente Handicap at Del Mar Race Track

Del Mar racetrack in the great state of California played host to the $200,000 Grade 2 San Clemente Handicap on Saturday, July 23. Three year olds took to Del Mar's turf track and raced one mile. It was J K Racing Stable's triple stakes-placed Mokat that emerged victorious by an impressive 3 3/4 lengths at 7-1 odds. 10-1 shot Lady Valeur finished a good second in the field of 10 while 3-1 second betting choice Stays in Vegas got in for third. 5-2 Be Mine finished a disappointing fourth while Jade Princess, Corps de Ballet, Gone to Bali, Mirage, Princess Princess and Belvoir Bay completed the order of finish. Sweet Queen scratched.
