Caledonia Road Wins Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies at Del Mar
The $2 million 14 Hands Winery Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies was contested Saturday, November 4 at Del Mar racetrack in Del Mar, California. Some of the best two-year-old fillies in the world lined up on Del Mar's dirt track and raced 1 1/16 miles. Zoom and Fish Stable, Charlie Spiring, and Newtown Anner Stud's 17-1 shot Caledonia Road pulled the first of many upsets on the day, crossing the line 3 1/4 lengths ahead of the 13-horse field for her first G1 score. Alluring Star finished an good second at 8-1 odds with another longshot, Blonde Bomber, who was sent off at 30-1 claiming at quality third. Separationofpowers was fourth with Piedi Bianchi, Wonder Gadot, 2-1 race favorite Moonshine Memories, Princess Warrior, Gio Game, Stainless, 7-2 second choice Heavenly Love, Maya Malibu and Tell Your Mama completing the order of finish.
