The $300,000 G2 San Diego Handicap was run Saturday, July 22 at Del Mar racetrack in Del Mar, California - a 1 1/16-mile dirt test for horses three years old and upward. In a stunning upset Hronis Racing's Accelerate shocked the racing world and beat the best horse on the planet - and it wasn't even close. Accelerate blew away the field by 8 1/2 lengths at 8-1 odds. Donworth finished second at 10-1 odds with another 10-1 shot Cat Burglar, Accelerate's stablemate ran third. 1-5 favorite Arrogate stunningly finished fourth in the five-horse field with El Huerfano in last.
