Frank Conversation Wins El Camino Real Derby at Golden Gate Fields
Las Vegas, NV - The $200,000 Grade 3 El Camino Real Derby went down at Golden Gate Fields in Berkeley, California in Saturday, February 13 - a 1 1/8 mile test for three year olds on Golden Gate's All Weather Track. Reddam Racing's Frank Conversation kept his roll going and recorded his second straight stakes win here - this time by three quarters of a length as the 8-5 favorite in the field of 13. Frank Conversation earned 10 qualifying points toward the Kentucky Derby with the win. 11-1 shot Tusk finished second and earned four points on the Road to the Kentucky Derby while 2-1 second choice Kasseopia got in for third, claiming two points toward a start in the Run for the Roses in May. Completing the order of finish were San Dimas, Diplodocus, Algenon, Mana Strike, Marqula, Oscar Dominguez, Kelly With a Twist, Touched by Autism, Giopress, and Go Long. Mr. Coker was scratched.
