Sandiva Wins Marshua's River Stakes at Gulfstream Park

Las Vegas, NV - The $150,000 Grade 3 Marshua's River Stakes was contested on Gulfstream Park turf on Saturday, January 9 as older fillies and mares contested the 1 1/16 mile race. Al Shaqab Racing's overwhelming even money favorite Sandiva made it look pretty easy, winning by 1 1/2 lengths over 16-1 shot A Little Bit Sassy who finished a very pleasant second and Tuttipaesi who got in for third at 9-2 odds. Hope Cross finished fourth, followed by Partisan Politics, Strike Charmer, Devine Aida, Quiet Kitten, and Shanon Nicole to complete the order of finish. Can't Explain, Gamblers Rose, and Stiffed, all main-track only entrants, were scratched.
