Tequilita Wins Forward Gal Stakes at Gulfstream Park

Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida hosted the $200,000 G2 Forward Gal Stakes on Saturday, February 4 - a seven furlong dirt race for three year old fillies. Michael Matz-trained 14-1 shot Tequilita posted the upset in the field of nine and gained a valuable 10 qualifying points toward the Kentucky Oaks in the process. Spinaway Stakes dead-heat winner, 2-1 second betting choice Pretty City Dancer held for second and gained 4 qualifying points while 45-1 longshot Brahms Cat got in for third. Summer Luck was fourth while 6-5 favorite Ms Locust Point, Wildcat Kate, My Lerler, Lirica and Bode's Dream completed the order of finish.
