Tommy Macho Wins Hal's Hope Stakes at Gulfstream Park

Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida was the scene of the $150,000 G3 Hal's Hope Stakes on Saturday, January 14 - a one mile dirt test for horses three years old and upward. Paul Pompa Jr. and J Stables' 5-2 race favorite Tommy Macho overcame a tough trip and easily prevailed by 5 3/4 lengths. Bird Song, who was sent off at 5-1 odds finished second in the field of nine, with fellow 5-1 shot Realm 1 1/2 lengths back in third. Ami's Flatter was fourth while Hy Riverside, Team Colors, 9-2 second choice Mr. Jordan, Unbridled Outlaw, and Dolphus completed the order of finish.
