Lewis Bay Wins Rampart Stakes at Gulfstream Park

The $100,000 G3 Rampart Stakes took place Saturday, December 16 at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida. Fillies and mares three years old and upward went one mile on Gulfstream's dirt track. Alpha Delta Stable's Lewis Bay returned from a lengthy 13-month layoff and posted the impressive 1 3/4 length win as the 2-1 morning line second choice. Even-money favorite Curlin's Approval finished in second, 3 1/4-lengths in front of 5-1 third choice Nonna Mela who got in for a quality third in the field of seven. Gamble's Ghost was fourth with Lirica, Alpine Sky and King's Ghost completing the order of finish.
