Miss Ella Wins Franklin County Stakes at Keeneland

Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky was the scene of the $100,000 G3 Buffalo Trace Franklin County Stakes on Friday, October 14 - a 5 1/2 furlong turf dash for fillies and mares three years old and upward. Jack Swain III's 3-1 second betting choice Miss Ella got out to an early lead and held on for a neck victory in the field 12. 5-2 favorite Fair Point made a strong bid but had to settle for second while 58-1 longshot Smoke Signals finished another 2 1/4 lengths back in third. Full Trap was fourth while Boom Bam Bing, Late Spring, Everything Lovely, Melaleuca, Scatter Gun, Touch of Bling, My Year Is a Day and 4-1 third choice Mississippi Delta completed the order of finish. Bibby, Pin Up Gal, Tesalina and Xoxo scratched.
