Watershed Wins Ben Ali Stakes at Keeneland Racecourse
The $200,000 Ben Ali Stakes was contested Saturday, April 15 at Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky. Horses four years old and upward took to Keeneland's dirt track and raced 1 1/8 miles. Godolphin's 5-1 fourth betting choice Watershed secured his first ever graded stakes victory in the race - by 2 3/4 in the field of eight. Late-running Eagle got in for second at 7-2 odds, just nosing out 9-5 favorite Bird Song who held on for third. Blofeld was another neck back in fourth, while Conquest Enforcer, 3-1 second choice Scuba, Taketothestreets, and Frammento completed the order of finish.
