Itsinthepost Wins Elkhorn Stakes at Keeneland

The $250,000 G2 Dixiana Elkhorn Stakes took place Saturday, April 22 at Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky - a 1 1/2 mile turf race for horses four years old and upward. Jeff Mullins trained 5-2 race favorite Itsinthepost continued his ascension up his division's ranks when he earned his second straight graded stakes score - this time by 1 1/4 lengths. He has now finished first or second in nine of his last 10 starts. 6-1 shot Charming Kitten finished second in the field of eight with Bigger Picture, who was also sent off at 5-2 odds getting in for third. Danish Dynaformer was fourth while 9-2 third choice Red Rifle, Bullards Alley, Chocolate Ride and Interpol completed the order of finish. Grey Wizard, Roman Approval and Taghleeb scratched.
